Dylan is a second-year student reading BSc History and Philosophy of Science at University College London (UCL). He is also a Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Scholar and a scholar at the Amos Bursary, established to address the underrepresentation of young British men of African and Caribbean heritage in education and the professions. Dylan’s scholarships with these organisations have led to internships in leading firms, including a placement in New York. He is the son of Congolese-Rwandan immigrants and understands the challenges that young migrants face . Among his many accomplishments Dylan has been elected as the first black president of UCL Law for All (LFA) Society.
He emphasises that young migrants must develop confidence in order to succeed: “With time and training, I have learned to celebrate my cultural roots, to confidently wear the complexity of who I am and to carry myself with dignity no matter the environment.”
