Migrant Leaders Founder & CEO Speaking at University of Warwick Change Maker Series

conferences events news other Oct 22, 2020

We look forward to Migrant Leaders Founder & CEO Elham Fardad speaking at the University of Warwick Change Maker Series on the topic of collaboration across sectors. Elham Fardad, herself an alumni of the Warwick Executive MBA which she completed in 2003, says:

“I am elated to be a regular guest speaker at Warwick University and to share my experience and insights which I hope will influence their audiences at their various student, alumni and other events. It is truly fulfilling to serve the university who gave me the chance all those years ago to join their Executive MBA at such a young age which enabled me to benefit from the vast experience of that cohort. I started my MBA around the time that I joined GE as a Financial Controller in 1999. I was acutely aware of how young I was for that GE role and I sensed that my key success factor was to be my commercial and operational contributions to the wider GE business. The Warwick MBA gave me a framework for that and...

We are proud that Migrant Leaders was mentioned in The Guardian as an example of a charity that is making a difference by working to inspire disadvantaged young migrants to broaden their horizons and fulfil their potential.

The article brings valuable insights on why and how employers can create a workplace where everyone can thrive and the importance of this to young talent. Our Founder & CEO Elham Fardad would like to give a shout out to our very own Jouja Maamri who is a member of the Migrant Leaders Executive Team, “Jouja is one of the very talented young people I am lucky enough to be working with, who has put her personal purpose at the centre of her work and career aspirations right from the start. She and so many others give me hope that together we can build a world and a future that offers everyone more hope than we had in the past.” Migrant Leaders Founder & CEO, Elham Fardad.

awards news other Aug 31, 2020

Migrant Leaders has launched its long planned Migrant Leaders Opportunity Fund to enable exceptional migrant students to attend top universities. Our talented migrant students often find themselves in a situation where, despite gaining offers to study at top universities, they may not be entitled to student funding. Israel Johnson, Migrant Leaders Mentee and one of the recipients of the fund says “My story began when I moved to the UK in 2010 with my family when we sought safety from the violence of Boko Haram in Nigeria. I want to dedicate my life to the field of science but am ineligible for student finance, Migrant Leaders is giving me that opportunity by paying for my tuition fees to study Biomedical Science at the University of Warwick.”

Successful students will work directly with Elham Fardad and gain her additional mentoring, support, connections and...
